He decided to be a Calvary Scout and did many positions over his 15 years in the military. He evolved into leadership and this quality has carried forward into his career. He believes the military made him who he is today.
Transitioning to Entrepreneurship (6:48)
Mike was an entrepreneur at thirteen and was a drummer in a rock band and was very successful in growing the endeavor over the next few years. He was able to create and grow an annual concert that was later key to being sought for a merger and acquisition by a larger entity. He did small consulting work through his military career, which he was able to carry into a transition out of the military.
“Consulting is as easy or complex as you want it to be.”
Three skills that really has helped him as an entrepreneur that he learned in the military; leadership tactical patience, aggressiveness, ability to have thick skin.
“What is it that you enjoy, is a key question when in transition”
